The Governing Body of NSM is responsible for:
Setting the vision, mission, and policy framework for the organization.
Overseeing the planning and execution of national championships and sports outreach programs.
Forging partnerships with sponsors, government agencies, and international sports bodies.
Ensuring transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in all NSM initiatives.
Empowering athletes with resources, training, and exposure to represent India on the world stage.
With a robust leadership structure and a clear national mandate, the National Sports Mission is committed to discovering India’s untapped sports potential, especially among rural and underrepresented communities, and converting it into excellence through world-class mentorship and support.
Chairman – Shri Gopalkrishna
A respected social visionary and ardent supporter of youth development, Shri Gopalkrishna serves as the Chairman of National Sports Mission. With decades of experience in community leadership and a deep commitment to national progress through sports, he brings wisdom and direction to the organization’s initiatives. Under his stewardship, NSM is rapidly expanding its reach, aiming to transform India into a global sporting powerhouse.

Sri. Nedumankavu Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, of. B R Ambedkar International Foundation has come to the limelight of public service through student organizations and was elected as the College Union Chairman at S. N. College, Kollam during the Academic year 1990-91. He had been brought to the district and state-level positions of the student organizations. He had held the positions of Vice-Chairman of Kerala University Union, and a member of the University Senate also. He was at the forefront of the student agitations under his leadership, for benefitting the student community and was a victim of police actions on many occasions. It is to be noted that he could succeed in all endeavours focussing on the objectives set. He could get the award of the best speaker even when he was a student. He was admired even by students from opposite student organizations for his exemplary leadership qualities exhibited by him. He was offered the position of Director, FCI, and Secretary, All India Youth Congress, by the Central leadership in appreciation of his hard work in the organization. Now he is serving the global community by holding the positions of National Chairman, of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar International Foundation, Chairman, of National Sports Mission, and President of Service Cooperative Bank. With his efforts, the activities of the Foundation could be spread to not only in many Indian States but also in more than 12 countries.
